Sorry - we’re back and stronger than ever
You may have noticed that the Big Picture website experienced some technical problems yesterday evening - we’re sorry for that, but pleased to say that they’re fixed now.The overwhelming number of visitors to the site, and the huge volume of photos being uploaded since launch on Monday slowed the site right down and in some cases you may not have been able to get to us at all. Our technical gurus worked hard and quickly to sort out these problems and are confident that the site is now much stronger.
Sorry if you experienced these problems but we hope, and are almost certain, that it won’t happen again.

I can’t seem to find my picture that I loaded on the bigpicture2008 gallery. Have I done something wrong?.

With nearly 3,000 photos now in the galleries it can be difficult!
It can take a little while for photos tagged on flickr to make thier way onto the site - but if they’re tagged “bigpicture2008″ they will get here.
If you’ve uploaded via this site and got a response to say that it had been added - then rest assured it is in here somewhere.
It can be easier to locate the picture in the ‘Near Me‘ albums - so if you gave a location that may help.
We’re working on features to help make browsing the site a little easier, such as searching by tag.

Tags and page numbers would be a big help. I can’t find mine and experienced difficulty yesterday (Sat 26th Jan) Eventually I have uploaded three again as they did not appear.
Permanent page numbers would be a boon. You are clever, you can do it ;-D

Hey Websailor,
You’ll be pleased to note that browsing by tag is now working - click on a tag at the bottom of a photo on the site and you’ll be able to view other photos tagged the same way.
