Hair - Community Stories from Birmingham - Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery
| July 25, 2008 | to | March 1, 2009 |
Is hair an important part of our identity? Come and explore what local people think in this exciting interactive exhibition in Gallery 20.
Artworks, objects and photographs spanning the last fifty years are brought to life by people’s stories from across Birmingham. Find out more about why some people choose to wear the hijaab, how some African-Caribbean people straighten their hair and why so many young men want to look like David Beckham!
You can even try out some computer-generated new hairstyles of your own
The exhibition has been created in collaboration with the Museum’s Community Action Panel. It is accompanied by an exciting programme of events during the holidays.
