April 26, 2008toJune 12, 2008

Pogus Caesar has documented major events and personalities throughout the Midlands, and is well known for his photographic records of Birmingham’s black history, the Handsworth riots and of prominent figures.

Internationally, Caesar has photographed diverse subjects world-wide and this exhibition shows some of his exploration of the darker side of life in places such as Spain, Tunisia and South Africa.

That Beautiful Thing brings together images captured in the UK and abroad, offering a fascinating view of this artist’s varied photographic career of more than 20 years, and demonstrating Caesar’s talent for depicting the world at large with acute and touching observations of events and humanity.

Established Birmingham based photographer and film-maker Pogus Caesar has exhibited widely and his work is held in various private and public collections, including that of Wolverhampton Art Gallery.

There will also be an event at the Lighthouse Media Centre on 3 July 6 - 8pm. Join Pogus Caesar as he discusses his award winning career in film and television.
